Rows of workstations, dual monitors, real keyboards — it does not look like a treatment room because it is not one. It is a maker space. Kids come here to design, code, render, and print, with a counselor or staff member alongside instead of across.
Alongside the screens we keep a library of thousands of books, because the same impulse that pulls a kid toward a 3D printer pulls them toward a story. Sometimes the win of the day is a finished print. Sometimes it is forty minutes lost in a paperback. Both count.
